Let’s Win Pancreatic Cancer recently published a video featuring Sharon Seibel, M.D., a long-term survivor of pancreatic cancer whose extraordinary case directly led to the scientific work that became the SHARON clinical trial at General Oncology.
More than a decade ago, Sharon pursued a treatment approach outside of a formal clinical trial. Her outcome prompted sustained scientific investigation into the underlying biology and therapeutic strategy, ultimately forming the basis for the SHARON study that followed years later.
The video, produced by an independent third-party organization, presents Sharon’s personal story and perspective, illustrating how hypothesis-driven translational research can originate from first principles and lead to outcomes that reshape subsequent clinical investigation in diseases with profound unmet need.
